Fresh Start training

This training is ideal for teachers and support staff in both primary and secondary schools who are working to improve the literacy skills of children from Year 5 to Year 8+, currently working below NC Level 3, including dyslexic pupils and EAL students. Fresh Start aims to bring them to NC Level 4 as quickly as possible, while also developing their writing and comprehension skills.

In- school training

This in-school training is particularly appropriate for secondary schools introducing Fresh Start for their struggling readers in KS3. One of our experienced trainers will come to your school to lead a two-day training for all relevant teachers and support staff. Many schools find it useful to train all their SEN staff and the English department, so that they are aware of the techniques and methods that their pupils are using for reading and spelling.

Schools often find it helpful to invite staff from their feeder primary schools and other secondary local schools to share the training.
